Abraham Guest Pupils Help With Memorial Garden

Abraham Guest Pupils help weed and tidy the Memorial Garden
When the memorial Garden in Pemberton became overgrown, pupils at Abraham Guest gave their time to go along and weed the garden and tidy the ground. Thanks to the hard work of puplis and staff, the work was soon done and the garden was returned once more to its glorious state. A local group has also been involved with the Memorial Garden, who have said they would like to look after the garden as and when they can attend. The volunteers of the Pemberton Community Association work, and so any help to keep the garden weeded and tidy is always welcomed. Our Sincere thanks to everyone who has taken part in the Memorial Garden.

Association Offices are Demolished

The Association offices in Pemberton have been demolished. For the past 3 years, the building has not been used due to being unsafe and closed by the council. All the Association belongings were inside but couldnt be removed. The building was sold by auction twice. The first new owner sold the building on again, but they would allow us access when the building was safe. The building was quickly sold on again, the second buyers wouldnt allow us to remove the belongings. Reason given was that the council had sold the building complete with all belongings, the building and all contents in the building have now gone. apart from a compute which was returned to us.

Almost completely demolished .. Woodford Centre.

Barnardos - Royal Arcade, Wigan

Helen arranged for Santa to help out at Tasty Bites in the royal Arcade in Wigan. Santa was visiting his grotto to help the shop raise funds for childrens charity, Barnardos. As well as a grotto, there were tombola and raffle stalls with great prizes available. Anna contacted Helen to ask if we would be able to help with a santa... we were only too pleased to help!
